Aceville Publications, part of DC Thomson Media, is looking for a multi-skilled and intuitive Content Creator to work across Crafts Beautiful and associated brands. The ideal candidate will be an adaptable and flawless writer for our print and digital platforms, be a skilled SEO expert and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a fast-paced team. He or she will have print journalism and digital magazine experience, have strong commercial nous and be able to effortlessly switch between subbing and proofing magazine content, planning photoshoots, driving our online following and updating our websites.

Job Specification
• Generate top-class feature/content/project ideas that are on-brand, audience-relevant and may support advertising
• Research, write and collate content for Crafts Beautiful and associated titles, supplements and website (securing backlinks) in perfect English and in individual house styles to multiple deadlines
• Liaise with the advertising team to create innovative, commercially-driven content such as advertorials, e-newsletters, sponsored blog and social media posts, videos and brand campaigns that sit harmoniously within our editorial remits
• Develop, grow and manage multiple websites and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest
• Plan and direct photoshoots, including sourcing products and styling
• Work with other departments on print, online, promotional and commercial activity including overseeing design and development of promotional bags
• Support the Editor managerially with both print and online editorial development and drive regular editorial features meetings
• Build and nurture relationships with PRs, advertisers and other external contacts
• Secure celebrity/expert interviews, competition prizes and reader offers
• Accurately proof your own work and others’ as required
• Source images to the budget which are appropriate and appealing
• Oversee pages/content from start to finish, including signing off pages/content
• Provide design direction to the print studio and web design teams
• Provide input, support and drive our craft Awards and any related or similar promotional campaigns
• Represent the company in a professional manner at client meetings and shows
• Perform other tasks delegated by the Group Editor, Editor to support the team and wider departments, when required

Previous experience on consumer magazines, plus proven digital and social media experience is essential. This is not an entry-level position. The role encompasses - but is not limited to - the craft, knitting, stitching and related sectors.
